Pregnancy book.

I found one of these on pinterest. Then later found the blog where it came from and after I had already started working on mine...she started selling the template. But I figured instead of restarting I'd just continue on my way. If you are interested you can go HERE and purchase the template. It's really adorable!

I started mine on week 5.5...I'm up to week 16. I'll post the lastest weeks as we go along! But for now enjoy! After the pregnancy is complete I'll have it printed in a tidy little book!

December Daily 1 - 5

I started doing this in 2008. I blanked out last year and didn't finish but I'm back on this year! 

Mojo slowly coming back...

I think the last digi/paper layout I did was at the end of February. This weekend I managed to do a couple of layouts and another little project. Still cleaning my craft room and hopefully some sewing projects will get started this week especially since I had fun buying some new fabric at Quilt Country on Friday. Look at that yummy goodness...

anyway...here are the layouts I did. This was National Scrapbooking Day (weekend) and lots of shops had sales! I did a little digi shopping myself! Some new Shabby Miss Jenn, Sweet Shoppe Designs and Weeds and Wildflowers.

Earlier this week for the Daily Inspiration Monica posted THIS project on scrapfreak. I didn't really want to do the paper version so I took it my own route and came up with this...I used a fabric marker and wrote the quote on the fabric. I then used that as my guide to embroider the quote. I have a ton of old quilt blocks on hand and thought it'd give this a vintage look if I used an old quilt block.

just a few things...

Yesterday I had the girl's picture made for Valetines...Madelynn was not cooperative. She promptly removed the bow from her hair. Nora was just a pleasant as could be. We were excited to see a couple of her pictures displayed!

I'm knee deep in piles and piles of clothes...

and then there are the piles of general everyday laundry. It's insane!

this shows a couple of piles of save...I have large totes that I store the clothes in. All of this is in our bedroom right now. I was hoping to put it off until after I finished Nora's quilts. But hubby is tired of navigating through it...especially since he has to do it in the dark each morning when he leaves silently while we all sleep! I've bought some vacuum storage bags and hopefully I'll have it all put away and organized tonight. Thank God for leftover chili so I don't have to worry about cooking!

I did take a bit of a break yesterday and made these...

I made Madelynn one and of course Nora had to have one too...

She wore hers to school today. She said all her friends loved it lol btw, the idea and instructions came from Ashley Ann

Speaking of...Miss Nora just informed me that I have clothes to go through - so get off the internet!

Life 2010

The month of January is complete! I'm still snapping shots daily. It is not easy. But I am enjoying the outcome each week when the layouts are complete!

a little digi scrapping

I've recently been lacking energy and motivation to get crafting. My craft room is not only a mess from me but it's also a holding area for some extra furniture. I've decided to made a big girl room for Nora. The idea of the girls sharing a room right now was good in theory but it's not working. That means time to paint, rearrange, redecorate, get rid of old furniture, buy some new and the list goes on...needless to say that all the organizing I did before Thanksgiving is coming unglued. I hate that I can't just do a big project and move on. But when I do something I make a big, really big mess! I've set a goal that her room has to be finished in 2-3 weeks...no more!

So by the time night falls and the girls are in bed...when I would normally craft...I'm so zonked that I just want to veg. I've turned my vegging into catching up on Madelynn's scrapbook and a few other pages along the way.

I've got a ton of projects in the works and I can't wait to share when they are finally complete...including a new big girl purple/green bedroom! stay tuned ;-)

Our Christmas Album

During the month of December I did a layout a day to document our Christmas. Less than a week ago, I had all of the layouts printed into a hardbound album. It arrived this week and I couldn't be happier!

 The album is white linen and it's quite nice. I had this printed at Scrapbooks Please. This was the first book I had printed from them. Previously I've used them to print digi layouts (their prices are great!) and they also printed Madelynn's birth announcements. Just really pleased with this company!  (these pictures don't really do it justice but you get the idea!)

Life 2010 - first week complete

Suprisingly I actually finished the first week in photos. I've also taken the first week's picture of myself and one of the girls...off to a good start! I purchased the Sweet & Simple 365 Kit for January on www.weedsandwildflowers.com Didn't realize at the time of purchase that there was also a quickpage kit...wish I'd have purchased that one because it would've saved me some time this month. Oh well, my first week is scrapped and that's what matters!

Not too long ago I did a hybrid tag book for Nora's first year. Here it is...

I decided to go ahead and scrap Madelynn's first year each month and well...I got behind. Good thing I blogged on the 19th of each month so I can take the blog post and use it for the journaling on each layout. I've done the first three months.

and one other two layouts I did this week...

More than anything this year, whether I complete project 365 or month in review or whatever, I just want to make sure I keep up with documenting our life...I think I'm off to a good start. 31 days in January...can I do 31 layouts? on my way!

Looking ahead...

The new year brings lots of new things...new projects, new ideas...so I'm in the process of filtering through all these new projects and ideas jumping around in my head and trying to figure out what to keep and what to toss.

I have a ton of sewing projects ahead. My favorite time of year to sew for the girls is spring/summer...I can't wait to get started! Plus I'd like to make a few wallhangings to hang above the fireplace for different seasons and holidays.

As for scrappy projects...I just finished my december album. I finished within the first couple of days of January. I've already sent it off to be printed in a hardbound linen album. It should arrive in a few days and I can't wait to see it!

On that note...I've got a lot of scrapbooking to catch up on. I got so behind over the past 2 years. While I plan to catch up on the past two years, I also plan to keep up with this year! (big task ahead!!) There are several projects floating around like the Project 365 or the 52 Blessings or even 12 Blessings. I have attempted some of these in the past with no success. Since my word for the year is "focus" and family is something I'm focusing on...I should be able to take lots of pictures (leaning towards project 365) and if I can't keep up daily, then I can definitely keep up weekly. You can keep up with my pictures in the LIFE 2010 album. I think this will work if I keep it stress free and fun. I don't want to force it...just want to enjoy it!

I also saw a really cute idea of taking a picture each week with all or at least one of your children. Since I am usually the one behind the camera...I think this might be right up my alley. I'd love to do this with both of my girls each week. So I'm going to attempt to get a picture of us together at least once a week this year! We'll see how it goes! again...no pressure just tossing the idea!

As for crafty projects...I've got a lot of furniture to refinish. I picked up quite a few pieces at yard sales this fall and they need to get pretty. I started painting our kitchen a while back and it's well past time I finished that little big project! I'm planning to keep my stitchery and crochet projects close at hand also. I've neglected a couple of projects that I'd like to finish up. 

I have my hand in so many different types of projects(crochet, quilting, scrapping, altering junk, refinishing furniture, sewing) that it makes it hard to focus on just one thing. But I think the key is not focusing on one project or type of project...but focusing on finishing some of the projects I've begun and clearing my "docket". That way I can make way for more projects!

On a family note...We have previously chosen one night a week as game night. Nora loves it! She chooses the games and we play until she pouts because she didn't win enough and then game night is over. This year I'd like to take it a step further. Once a week we will have a family night. Some of the ideas I've come up with are craft night, art night, game night, book night...get the idea?

This Friday, we are going to have Resolution night! We'll be eating blackeyed peas, cabbage and ham. After dinner we are going to make a list off resolutions. I have cards made for each of us to write down 5 things we want to do or change for the new year. Yes, I know we are late and missed the first but we had to move things around for a wedding.  After we've made our lists, we'll hang them in the dining room where we can see them daily, talk about them, and have them be a reminder throughout the year.

Another idea is to incorporate traditions and holidays from other countries. I love the idea of celebrating Cinco deMayo. Oh the ideas running through my head for St Patrick's day. The possibilities for family night are endless! I'll create a meal to go with the theme or holiday. The projects or games will also be centered around the theme, holiday or country.

My theory on having a special family night each week is going to be a way for us to focus on each other...turn the tv off and just be together as a family without the extra distraction.  If anybody out there has any ideas or suggestions for our family night, please feel free to share! I'd love to hear from you!

I'm looking forward to a new year with lots of pictures, lots of scrapbook pages, lots of sewing and quilting, lots of fun with my family. I can't wait!
